If certain county commissioners have their way, there will no longer be funding for pet adoptions through county animal services.  That would mean every animal brought to or picked up by county animal services would be euthanized unless it was claimed or pulled by a non-profit rescue organization. :(  Times are tough, budgets are cut.... but really? 

Animal lover's are planning on voicing their concern tonight at the old courthouse in Bradenton.  Details are in the article.  Let's hope our community can find a better budget solution than destroying thousands of homeless pets.
