My Mom, Debra K. Decker-Bates
11/29/51 - 4/22/07

There's just no way to put everything about my mom in a few words. What she lacked in stature, she made up for in presence. She loved life. She loved being a mom. She loved her dogs, which now live with me. If motherhood is measured in belief in her children, she was Mom of the Year. She's pictured above on one of the proudest days of her life... my brother (and dearest friend) Ben's college graduation. There's just no way to prepare for the loss of your parent. I guess we'll have to borrow a page from her book and take it One Day At A Time.
Love you, Mom. Miss you every day.

I'm super excited and incredibly honored to help out The Cancer Support Community this Thursday at Urban Flatts (Cooper Creek Plaza off University Blvd. in Sarasota) from 6p-8p! There will be line-dancing and salsa lessons while I try to serve some beverages behind the bar... anyone got a "bartending for dummies" book I can borrow? lol
