No one ever believes me when I tell them I'm a real live Florida native. Yep, some of us aren't snowbirds!
Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE to cook! My family is Cuban and Sicilian, so Latin and Italian foods are some of my favorites, but I love to try new recipes and dishes as often as I can... Got a recipe you think I should try? Send it to me!
Some of my other interests are baseball (Go Rays!), wine, eating (hey, it goes with the cooking!), music, travel, and Boston, my cat. I also LOVE zombie shows--The Walking Dead on AMC is one of my favorites, and I'm also into Breaking Bad, The Food Network, HGTV and The Travel Channel.
Colorado Rockies frist base coach Rene Lachemann gives a young Phillies fan some unsolicited--yet awesome!--advice. I think more people should talk to their kids like this!

Remember when Jake Owen got in a go-kart accident a few weeks back, and crushed his hand? He had emergency surgery to pin his bones back together, and the tip of his right ring finger wasn't healing properly. In fact, the tissue was dying, and doctors removed the last half of Jake's ring finger on Monday!
Jake told reporters that the fingertip was removed just a few hours before he was scheduled to take the stage at a free block party in Nashville, and he was definitely feeling the pain while on stage, but tried not to let the fans know it. Ouch!
Carrie Underwood performed in Brownsville, OR last Friday, and in the audience was a young lady named Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is battling some pretty serious health issues, and the folks at the Make-A-Wish Foundation hooked her up with a dream experience: to sing on stage with Carrie Underwood!
Carrie introduced Kaitlyn on stage, and the two performed "All American Girl" together. Check out a fan-posted video below. I am smiling SO BIG after watching this!
I would have completely lost it if this had happened to me.
Amanda from Kent, Washington was getting married. She had her wedding dress in her car, and just HOURS before her wedding ceremony, her dress was stolen out of her car! Amanda called 911, and through tears, explained to the dispatcher what happened. The next line out of the dispatcher's mouth was, "What size do you wear?"
As it turns out the dispatcher, Candice, had gotten married a year before, and the two women had almost exactly the same measurements! Candice texted a photo of the dress to Amanda, who gratefully accepted the offer to borrow the gown, and the wedding went off without a hitch! Not only did Candice save Amanda's wedding, but the two have become friends! YAY!
If you're on a date with someone, who pays the bill?
I'm not talking about someone you've been in a relationship with for a long time; I'm talking about a first or second date. Should the man always pay? Should the bill be split in half? Or maybe whoever initiated the date should pay the bill, even if it was the woman who asked the man out?
A new study of 17,000 single men and women at Cal State Universtiy revealed some pretty interesting stuff. I think it's worth noting that even in today's world, women still want to be treated like ladies, and expect the man to pay for the first date.
The study revealed that 84 percent of men and 58 percent of women said men should always foot the bill. A little over half the women surveyed said they offer to help pay for expenses; however, 39 percent said they hoped the man would decline the offer and use his own money anyway.
Here comes the really good part: the majority of men surveyed said that they actually fell GUILTY if the woman pays while on a date! So ladies, if a guy offers to take care of the bill, maybe you should just let him!
Now I have to ask: if you're on a date with someone new, who pays?
And there's video!
This kind of stuff really freaks me out! A Houston family is making the news because their child's baby monitor was hacked, and the creep was able to see and speak to their child, who was in her bedroom at the time!
Now, the headline is a little misleading: this is not a traditional walkie-talkie type baby monitor. This was more like a webcam, hooked up to the internet so the parents could monitor their child remotely, and it had a microphone on it for audio communication. ANYTHING that is hooked up to the internet can potentially be hacked, so let this serve as a warning to parents--DON'T USE THIS TYPE OF DEVICE AS A BABY MONITOR.
The hacker was able to look into the child's room while she was sleeping, and used the cam to SPEAK to the child! Experts say that the wireless router's default password was to blame. Want to see more? Watch a video clip below.
I really love anything that gives a peek at what life is like on the road, and Jason Aldean's new video for "Night Train" has tons of footage of Jason and his entire road crew, doing what they do best. It includes shots of stage set up, sound check, meet-and-greets with fans, and all kinds of "behind-the-scenes" stuff. Check it out!
I can't even explain how much I love Miranda Lambert! What "kind" are YOU?!
